FINAL SOUNDTRACK PRODUCTIONS : PROPOSAL

Pink Panther

Th length of this clip is roughly 2 minutes long. this scene is a hilarious scene of the protagonist of this film attempting to master speaking with a fluent american accent, unfortunately having the help of an professional coach only results in repeated failures to pronounce the simple sentence 'I would like to buy a hamburger'. the reason i chose this clip is because it is a piece i know like the back of my hand from watching this movie religiously when it was released. I also chose to use this piece because the scene is strongly concentrated on our protagonist trying to pronounce the words making it easy for me to lip sync.

Throughout this piece i have chosen to use no sound effects as the key to the brilliance of this scene lies with the funny dialogue so by me adding sound effects it would only ruin the authenticity of the scene giving it a forced and awkward vibe. Although i did choose to add music to this as it added a ironic relaxed tone in a non-relaxed atmosphere as tensions boiled between our hero and the visibly frustrated vocal coach, the music i added is a classic french culture instrumental to show no matter how hard our protagonist attempted to be american his strong french accent did not allow it. I chose to keep all the dialogue in this scene the same as it was originally because it is a accent class and the camera pays special attention to the characters mouths i did not have the back draw of this is that i did not have a lot of room to play with what i wanted them to say.

I will record my piece in an empty music room on a apple mac laptop and then send it over to a computer to edit.

Rush hour 3

The length of this clip is roughly 5 minutes although i only used about 2 minutes to record over because some sections of the piece would of been to difficult for me to dub over on my own for example for about the first minute it is the young pupils chanting as they rehearse some manoeuvres. The scene i chose from this film was another comedy masterpiece as our two heroes agent Carter and Lee enter a martial arts school with the intentions of investigating one of the lockers unfortunately this results in an embarrassing confrontation from the well trained pupils, the reason i chose to use this piece is because it offers a lot of room for me to give my own impersonation on how to portray the character Carter as he hilariously causes mischief around the school, it also allows me to try out numerous side effects for example i well attempt to re-dub the first 1 minnute or so of the clip whre we can see the pupils rehearsing.  I chose to use one sound effect throughout this piece o swords being taking out as it matched the pupils actions in the scene. for the dialogue i chose to keep the majority of what was originally said by the characters the same only changing small sections using lip sync.

Soundtrack evaluation

The first clip that I chose to use was a funny scene from the movie 'pink panther' where the protagonist is trying to learn to speak with a fluent american accent, the reason I chose this piece is because it has a lot of dialogue but only comes from to different characters allowing me to focus on the two individuals i make sure i accurately portray there voices while maintaining my own image.

I think the main thing that went well with this clip was the way i managed to accurately sync my voice to the clip making it more believable to the audience that it was the actors voice, although something that i don't believe went particularly well was the creativity as because the scene is just of two people talking it was difficult for me to add any creative side effects or add a pin to the dialogue.



The second clip i used was a hilarious scene from the well known film 'rush hour 3' the reason i chose this scene is because it has a lot of funny dialogue and Chris Tuckers character agent Carter's bright and bubbly personality allowed me to experiment with how i wanted to portray my dubbed version.
One of the things that i don't feel went well was the lip syncing as at times it visible that my voice is of time with what is happening on screen.
